SUMMARY:Democracy R&D Global Conference 2027
DESCRIPTION:In 2027, the World Conference of the global citizens’ assembly network Democracy R&D will take place in Bogotá (Colombia) and Brasília (Brazil). This will be the first time the conference is held in the Global South, marking an important milestone for Democracy R&D and for the growing community of deliberative democracy in Latin America. The Instituto de Política Abierta and Delibera Brasil are serving as co-organizers. The conference will take place in June 2027: The main event will run from June 2 to 5 in Bogotá, followed by a post-conference meeting from June 8 to 9 in Brasília. Democracy R&D looks forward to welcoming you to Colombia and Brazil in June 2027. About Democracy R&D With 111 member organizations (including Mehr Demokratie) and 108 individual members in 59 countries and across six continents, Democracy R&D is the largest global network dedicated to deliberative democracy and democratic renewal. Democracy R&D empowers citizens to make informed judgments and make decisions in cooperation with governments. This is achieved through democratic processes such as random selection (lottery) and deliberation. Members of Democracy R&D help governments at all levels - from local to global - to build trust, foster understanding, and find solutions to some of the most difficult problems.
