DESCRIPTION:For anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of the potential of the democratic lottery system, Josh & Ted Wachtel have invited a number of interesting guests to their series of events, ‘The Lunch Break with Josh & Ted Wachtel’. In the style of a ‘talk show’, Josh opens and closes the hour with a song and has a brief chat with Ted before they both introduce their guest. This season’s focus is on ‘Genuine Representation’ – the radical yet sensible idea that ‘we, the people’ can govern ourselves at every level of society. Ted and Josh will reflect on the move towards greater citizen participation in governance and present some of Ted’s ‘sketches’ on ‘genuine political representation’ – descriptions of new types of advisory bodies in politics and business, whose members are selected through a democratic lottery system. The ‘studio audience’ will have the opportunity to make comments and ask questions at any time.
