Citizen Participation: Train-the-Trainers Winter School
The European Commission’s Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy (CC-DEMOS) is launching a free in-person Train-the-Trainers winter school, from 23 to 25 February 2027 in Ispra, Italy, dedicated to advancing participatory processes across local, regional, and national governments.
As public administrations and government increasingly turn to co-creation and deliberation to shape policies, the demand for skilled trainers has never been higher. To meet this growing need, an exclusive in-person Train-the-Trainers school will take place from 23 to 25 February 2027 in Ispra, Italy, dedicated to advancing participatory processes across local, regional, and national governments.
Who should apply?
This intensive program is tailored for prospective trainers based in the EU who already possess hands-on experience in citizen engagement. Whether you work in a public administration or an organiser delivering specialised training to government bodies, this school is designed to help you to become a catalyst for participatory governance.
What will you learn?
By completing the course, participants will not only deepen their own expertise but also gain the pedagogical framework necessary to teach others. You will leave the session equipped to:
- Plan and design robust citizen engagement processes from the ground up.
- Implement these initiatives efficiently and effectively, navigating common administrative hurdles.
- Ensure lasting impact by mastering strategies that increase the chances of concrete follow-up and policy integration.
- Deliver your own training by acquiring the teaching skills necessary to reuse the course materials and tailor them to your specific institutional audience.
