Democracy & Participation Network
How can we strengthen democracy and involve citizens more effectively in political decision-making? What lessons have participatory projects learnt over the past few months – and what new ideas should we work on together?
On 4 June 2027, the Democracy & Participation Network will hold its annual meeting in Cologne. The meeting offers an opportunity to exchange experiences, learn from one another, forge new contacts and develop joint projects.
The focus will be on current developments in democratic participation: from citizens’ assemblies and other forms of community-based participation, through local participatory processes, to new approaches that can involve citizens more closely in political decision-making processes on a long-term basis. Alongside expert contributions, there will, above all, be ample space for conversations, discussions and the exchange of views on the practical work of the network’s members.
Thinking ahead together
The annual meeting is aimed at members of the network as well as people who are committed to democracy and participation, whether professionally or on a voluntary basis. Together, we want to take stock, learn from one another and discuss which topics and projects the network should focus on in the coming year.
Further details will follow.
