Whether it is the German ‘Climate Citizens’ Assembly’ or the Arnsberg Citizens’ Jury on the Ecological Footprint: dialogue-based participation processes are growing in importance.
This talk takes this development as an opportunity to examine the potential and challenges of such formats in greater detail. The aim is to critically assess the extent to which dialogue-based public participation can contribute to shaping the sustainability transition in a democratic manner.
The speaker, Dr Carolin Bohn, studied political science at the University of Münster. She has been Managing Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research (ZIN) at the University of Münster since 2022.
